7:42 HAMMUH TYME
15:10 They do it with the troons
Ok
"I have a ninja turtle with a drinking problem" is something I can relate to as well😆
21:14 to 23:07 that scene in the video had me rolling 😂
18:14 Me: “‘Tis but a-“ I called it. It was obvious, but I still fucking called it.
Doug's First Movie? Wow, how old was he when he made this?
Pro Tip: Make a voodoo of yourself to give yourself a back massage and all the other pampering, care, and comfort you deserve!
I love how that gorilla and the stove exploded BEFORE the hammer even touched it. (I'm being honest here too)
“I never had this problem with Lupa” god that aged like milk considering what liars and manipulators her and Phelous are.
I Love Child's Play
Catherine Hicks (Underrated Actress) Also Freaking Loveeee...Chester A. Bum ❤ No Thanks To Phelous Almost Ruining The Illusion You Tell Him "NC" 🤣
I love Child's Play 1988 this is one of my most favorite horror movies of all time
3:00
I think it's his horned helmet or more accurately the way he wears it.
Andy has more tragedy than Spiderman.
It is no secret that the Mike Myers cat makeup turned out the way it did, because well Rick Baker was supposed to be onboard to do the makeup (Baker even did a design for the cat, it's in the book 'Metamorphosis',) but due to conflincts and Mike Myers (yeah personality-wise Mike tends to be a perfectionist) he got scewed over on it and replaced with Steve Johnson (and yes the same Steve Johnson who is married to Linnea Quigley). Oh yeah, because when I think of Dr Seuss come to life I think of The Island Of Doctor Moreau (1996), The Howling, Greystone, Bad Moon and Poultergeist: The Legacy.
I feel like Rick Baker doesn't get another credit as a makeup artist, I mean not only did he start doing makeup as a teenager but also he started off making more monster models in his mother's oven (Peter Jackson also did start off like that), but also the fact that it's because of his makeup he did on American Werewolf In London that the Best Makeup oscar was invented. The makeup design you see on Carrey's Grinch is actually so good, and obviously when they did the Cat in The Hat with Mike Myers they obviously tried to replicate that makeup look (I believe Baker was supposed to do the makeup for that but he got screwed over on it).
11:39
His hatred on The Grinch is VERY similar to my hatred on The Lego Batman Movie.
As a fan of the grinch I love this video I feel like the movie works on its own, but doesn’t exactly work as a Seuss movie. Same can be said for the other Seuss movies (except for Horton Hears A Who, that actually does a good job being a genuinely good Seuss adaptation).
For the most part And even then that one still feels different but in a good way, though.❤
@@DeadLiftGaming-wr7ln yeah Horton is unironically the best one, with this one coming in second
5:40 Uh, did they forget to proofread the script? That exchange made no sense.
Darn this video. I'm seeing a lot of comments in rhymes now. I blame critic, and all of his clever lines. 😂
"he's not good looking enough to win women over just based on his looks" UGH so many of us don't care about conventional handsome - we love that swagger, a sparkle in the eye, a passion, and interesting POV thats hot and Tom as Loki just has it.... PLUS now we're talking 10 years later the LOKI series??? omg its SO GOOD and Tom apparently really had a lot to do with setting the vibe and became a "Special Producer" because he was in every room, writers rooms, FX, and giving LOKI LECTURES... that is SO HOT lmao
I *LIKE* that he’s unique looking and non-muscly.
Did she just shut off the light and leave those two guys there
15:20 most beautiful shot if you ask me, the films is awful btu ha parts that make it enjoyable I’m sure you agree, Jim carry mostly (we all know that you can see) the music at times is qui is ok this flick is a guilty pleasure to many today.
I quite enjoy Doug’s grinch review I’m sure many agree, he rhymes well just like Seuss’s books that is not easy we can agree.
Why isn't this one on either of their channels?
Cuz they hate each other lol
I wish that both the Nostalgia Critic and Phelous finished the Chucky movies.
Finally someone uploaded the version without the “Easy Like Sunday Morning” bit not clipped out
God Phealos sucks.
Not at all. He's really funny!!
Your parents suck, because they made you
The original Child's Play is 35 years old! Made $44 million against a $9 million budget Crazy I didn't watch this one for so long as a kid, I watched the sequels more frequently The idea came from my buddy doll released in 1985 it turns out Amazing how the franchise has endured with 2 comics, a comedy show, 6 sequels, a remake, and the tv show Director Tom Holland makes great use of the material using dolly cam perspectives, low angles, state of the art special effects, and a solid cast with solid performances Holland also tackled some disturbing subject matters looking at social inequality, sexual assault, and how failing institutions protect those at risk The music is absolutely brilliant creating a sense of dread and unease The Chicago setting is used effectively being cold with certain parts looking grimy and dangerous; an integral component offering an unflinching portrait of poverty, crime, and suffering Alex Vincent does a good job yet he could use more work with his line readings The characters of the mother and son make them easily sympathetic and relatable than your run-of-the-mill slasher film, they are the emotional core of the story There’s only small doses of humor but it doesn’t detract away from the creep factor of this doll slinking around on his victims Thanks to Brad Dourif’s voice acting he brings a true feeling of malevolence to this doll plus the effects blend so seamlessly it’s hard to tell between the puppetry and using little people There’s a real sense of foreboding during the films brief runtime Some might find it pretty silly today but it’s the first film to establish the slasher villain’s status in the annals of horror history, after all the fear of toys coming alive is something we can all attest to The film even inserts a commentary of excess consumerism, children's marketing, and capitalism, you could also argue the central theme is the warning against the hostility and inhuman world of advertisers
2:37 😂
ua-cam.com/video/lmY66Cn8gTo/v-deo.html With Catherine Hicks' saying "What?" and then taking longer than expected to say her next line: was that pause deliberately long, or did they cut in a bad take? I know she's in shock, but it feels unnatural how long the pause is, and especially in the amount of dead air that films avoid.
Hey, Where's Casper?
This was the first video I saw from Doug and omg memories wen I first saw this I laughed my ass off
I wish this was unedited on the real channel
John: these guys are not fans of child's play movies.
14:01 "He's got friends on the other side"
You guys can laugh all you want, but i still think the last showdown with Chucky is pretty awesome.
The year of our lord, Twenty thousand and twenty-three, I am drunk as shit, and watching a decade-old review of a movie I never cared about. Bless the internet - and fuck the internet.
I love Chucky and all of the child's play movies
Out of all the crossovers this has has got to be the greatest one ever
Wow, that other guy is really annoying.
13:25 Before I ever knew what Blues Brothers was, I thought this scene was actually a part of Child's Play.
His every character does that "im starting to realize that this is pointless and not funny" schtick, yeaaaah... Fun for the first couple of times, loses it after about the 20th time.
15:33 creepiest joke ever (even NC & Phelus just want to move on from it)
GOATed review.
Funny enough, the main cop in this is also Jack Skellington so...Christmas tie in!
11:47 "your a waste of thought"
